Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD can only be diagnosed by a licensed mental health professional such as a psychologist, social worker, counselor, or psychiatrist. About 1 in 100 adults have OCD, affecting men and women of all backgrounds.

People with OCD have symptoms of obsessions, compulsions, or both. These obsessions and compulsions take a lot of time and get in the way of activities the person values such as going to work or spending time with friends and family.
