What is Medication Management for Psychiatry?

Medication management in psychiatry refers to the use of medications to treat mental health conditions. The goal of medication management is to help individuals with mental health conditions manage their symptoms and improve their overall functioning. This is typically done through a combination of medication and other forms of treatment, such as psychotherapy.

Medication Management Services (Psychopharmacology)

At Novum Psychiatry, our clinical team provides high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric evaluations and medication interventions for a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, PTSD, and social anxiety. In our Sudbury office, Dr. Bijoy Mathew, a board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist, treats adolescents ages 14 and older, as well as adults.

As an outpatient private psychiatry group, we offer a range of services including psychiatric care, therapy, and medication management to create a holistic treatment plan. Our experienced team of psychiatrists and therapists will tailor your medication regimen and psychotherapy treatment to your specific needs and medical history.

While medication may not be suitable for everyone, psychotropic medications can significantly improve functioning and well-being for some patients with debilitating symptoms.

Medication Management Appointments

Finding the right medication regimen may take time and patience. Therefore, clients who are on a medication regimen will need to attend regular follow-up appointments to monitor the effectiveness of their prescribed medications and make any necessary changes to the treatment plan.

Most initial visits for new patients will be in-office appointments at our Sudbury or Plainville offices. However, established patients may have the option of telehealth appointments for subsequent visits. We have providers licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and can provide care to residents of these states. Please note that state laws mandate that patients must be physically located in the state where the provider is licensed for telehealth visits.

Novum Psychiatry accepts a wide range of commercial health insurance plans for psychiatric, medication management, and therapy visits. If you would like to request a confidential evaluation, please complete the request form or contact our office.
